Quick-acting vise
|
Ambrose Everts Greene |
Berkeley, CA |
This quick-acting vise was designed for easy machining. It used cold-rolled steel bar for sliding and reinforcing parts as that material was relatively inexpensive and dimensionally accurate. A screw with undercut threads could be engaged or disengaged from an open-sided nut. This patent was from one of a pair of patent applications. It appears that the other application was never granted. The inventor, Ambrose Everts Greene, appears to have been a professional inventor/engineer who specialized in designing novel engines.
