This monster of a classic drill press was made somewhere around 1959 right here in the U.S.A in Buffalo, New York. It stands a little over six feet tall and is powered by a single-phase, dual-voltage, 3/4hp Dayton motor. It has a 3/4" chuck and is equipped with a speed-reducing jack-shaft that, if my online calculations are correct, gets the chuck spinning at down around 120 rpm.... Wanna cut big holes?.... This is the tool!
This drill press has been thoroughly renovated. It was completely disassembled, each of the cast iron parts were sand-blasted and painted, the bare metal parts cleaned and clear-coated, quill bearings and pulley bearings replaced, thrust bearings on the lift cleaned and repacked, the column was spin-sanded and waxed. Ready to go back to work for another 50 years! |
