Not sure if right forum, just trying to provide notification of sale. We are a school district in So. Oregon. I want to make sure it isn't bought for scrape by someone that doesn't appreciate what it is. This Oliver 299-D is going to a public auction, April 22nd, 10am (early preview 8am). at Klamath County Fairgrounds, Klamath Falls, Oregon.
This planer is 440v, 3 phase, has sharpening trolley and runs great. I've personally planed several hundred feet of lumber with it. Knives were replaced several years ago but probably need redressing. Unfortunately we do very little cabinet work anymore and have moved to a new shop. This is no longer needed. I found another 299-D here on Vintage Machinery that was built 11 before this one off assembly line, that planer was purchased by Navy and went to Midway Island sub base in 1943. Very nice planer, will be missed.
