$700 OBO (possible trade, see below)

This is a great lathe and should be a prize tool in someone's wood shop! I really would like to keep it for myself but I don't have time to use it and storing it in my garage isn't doing it justice.

It is a Delta Milwaukee wood lathe and duplicator attachment manufactured in 1947. (I looked up the serial number @ vintagemachinery.org) I got it from a guy who's dad had it since the early 50's, he may have even been the original owner. I think he said it hadn't been used since the 70's when his dad passed away.

The lathe is in great condition, especially given its age! There's some light surface rust around the edges but nothing that a little oil wouldn't clear up. The drive belts show minor wear with plenty of life left. I need to dust it off and wipe it down but overall it's ready to go. Includes 2 tail stocks and several face plates and tool rests. (see pictures) I also have reproductions of the original manuals. Heavy duty, cast iron base and motor mount. Solid as a rock!

The only damage I've found is that one of the leg roller mounts is broken. Doesn't affect the lathe's functionality (the wheel falls out if the lathe base is lifted) but it would be nice if it was repaired.

Since the beginning of September, the same model duplicator has sold on eBay two different times for over $300 (including shipping) alone. Face plates and tool rests have been going for $30 to $60 + shipping, tail stocks $150. Would probably be pretty easy to make more money by parting it all out but it doesn't feel right to do it that way (at least to me). I could probably be more flexible on the price if I know it's going to a good home.

I would consider trading for a tight tolerance drill press capable of low speeds for metal drilling, good condition forged steel anvil (150 lbs+), or other high quality metalworking tools (post vice, swage block, tig/mig welder, etc).
