Rare original Holtzapffel ornamental lathe turning tools that came with Holtzapffel ornamental turning lathes. The triptych has a center section with two fold-out doors, collectively holding 75 turning tools of all kinds of shapes and profiles. All tools but one are Holtzapffel, with the one being a superb Evans internal grooving tool. All but a few have rosewood handles, the others being beech but made by Holtzapffel. Two have replacement handles of the wrong type but any turner worthy of these tools can easily turn two rosewood replacement handles of the right shape. It's not you'll lack for patterns. The triptich is missing a couple small pieces of outer ebony trim, which is easily fixed if desired. These tools and triptych very rarely come along! |
