I have a pristine Southbend 9" x 3'-6" bed length which I would like to trade for a South Bend 10 Heavy, or K model for total restoration/upgrade. 1940's vintage would be ideal. My southbend 9 is a "B" model and will cut threads with change gears, which I do not have. The headstock has been upgraded to a "High speed" variant. practically no wear on the half nut, cross slide and compound nuts are recently replaced with new ones. Ways are good shape. This unit has been modified with a "Reeves" style vari-pitch pulley on the drive motor and vee belt drive to headstock, two ranges, plus back gear, and gas spring belt tensioning. The carriage has a SCR/ D.C. control which I installed for ultra fine finishing. New felts throughout. 3 jaw chuck and tail stock chuck included. Decent floor stand with drawers and tooling drawer. Note; some tooling shown in picture is not included. Machine runs great. I am looking for a machine that's is in "restorable" condition, not looking for a rusty, broken machine, just ne that need TLC. It will be put back to work after restoration. Please text if we can work together on this 615-423-6621 |
