For sale is a beautiful, 1949 Baxter D. Whitney No. 177 14/16" Variety Saw. Many consider the 177 to be the best balanced and quietest saw ever made. It was restored by a previous owner. New bearings were installed in the original 5HP 220/440 3-phase motor. All wiring was replaced. The arbor is 1 1/8" diameter. It has a brand new Forrest Woodworker II blade installed. The dust port is 5" in diameter. The saw is solid, powerful, and runs smoothly. It is complete with the original rack & pinion rip fence, and miter gauge. Saw can be shown under power and loaded with forklift.
