Amazing Hendey 14" tie bar lathe. This was going to by my restoration project but sadly it looks like I won't be able to. This one was bought new as a private hobby lathe for the president of a company. Consequently it has had very little use. The ways are very nice and all the little ball-tipped oiling hole plugs are still in place. The spindle is free and everything is in great shape save one small tab missing from the quick change slots. These were the lathes that made Hendey famous. It has true lead screw reverse to make threading a breeze. No threading indicator needed! No backing up the spindle. It also has built-in micrometer threading stop. It has the factory overhead motor drive. I have also added a photo from the web of a nice restoration job another person did on a different machine exactly like it. The restored machine is just an example and is not for sale by me as I don't own it. If ever there was a Hendey 14" worthy of restoring, this one is it! The two motors shown underneath go to other machines and are not included. No chuck came with it. A whole bunch of Hendey H6 collets are included. Fork lift loading is available. Payment must clear before it will be released for loading. |
