I had this posted on the Boston Craigslist when a member of this fine community pointed out its heritage.
The band saw (the metal parts anyway) was once part of a combo machine sold by Sears. It shows up in the 1929 catalog. It was manufactured by the Parks Ball Bearing Machine Company in Cincinnati. The following post has some pictures of a mostly complete combo machine, and a scan of the catalog page, along with a lively discussion about the machine.

I could see this being built into a workbench. 11.5" wheels, tires in ok shape, upper blade guard, crappy silver paint.
Let me know if your interested. I would like to see $50 for it. |
