Wadkin RU wood Lathe By Patternmaker
Wadkin wood turning lathe RU 15'' (381.0 mm) 8' 3'' (2514.6 mm.) between centers when gap is closed with gap open it's 12 foot between centers also with gap open the machine is capable of 8 foot diameter work piece This is a heavy duty Lathe designed to deal with large diameter turning either between centers or on face plates. It has a multi speed head-stock with nine speeds varying from 98 to 1,900 rpm. The machine is built on unusually substantial lines to ensure absolute rigidity when turning large work . Interchangeable morse taper driving centers on the head stock and tail stock. The bed is of great strength having wide machined faces and instead of a removable gap plate the bed itself is arranged with sliding motion away from the headstock so the gap can be adjusted as desired. The tailstock is bored out and fitted with a long steel sliding popet controlled by large hand-wheel and square thread screw. it is arranged with set-over motion by screw for taper turning the front end is bored out morse taper the same size as the headstock spindle. The centers are self discharging. Tooling is as what shows in pictures. Not shown in pictures is a phase generator that I will let go with machine. There is also original installation instruction manual with cool illustration and black and white pictures and a Wadkin operating and maintenance instruction manual and the original Blue print. This machine is beautiful and in great condition all electrical components have been updated with new by an electrician. You may never get the opportunity to own this rare machine again.
