For sale a Delta Rockwell RC-63N 24" planer with Newman spiral carbide insert head and grinder attachment.
This is a three phase 240/480v machine with a 15hp motor that drives both the head and the feed. It has a segmented chip breaker and a solid feed roll. The bed rolls are adjustable from the front of the machine. The table is power feed up and down with fine adjustment by the handwheel

This planer was purchased from government surplus. It had been stored poorly but in my opinion had never been put into service. There was some rust on the table and other exposed surfaces but the insides were still covered in cosmoline.
The refurbishment consisted of complete dissassembly and cleaning. The table cleaned up nicely but there was enough rust that the surface does not look like a shiny, just ground top anymore. It should not have any affect on performance. I tried to capture the surface finish in a couple photos but it does not translate well to 2d.
I did change the 15hp motor from the factory Weg motor to a Baldor as I don't like Weg motors and have a hard time running them on my rotary converter. The original motor can go with the machine if you want it. I also purchased a small handful of carbide inserts that had been chipped in handling and ground the head back in. The grinder assembly has a simple storage box made for it.
Can be seen under power. I have a forklift to load. I can palletize and deliver to a local freight terminal for cost but any shipping arrangements are on the buyer. |
