Beautifully restored/complete 1947 (s/n 57-6536) grinder with companion pedestal. This unit has the most pristine tool rest surfaces I have ever seen, sort of a mythical NOS set, an original circular toggle switch plate in outstanding condition, plus 1944 era original braided cables connecting the twin lites. This was a REAL beauty to restore as it was in such superb internal and external condition to begin with!! This is the 7th unit I have restored. References are available on the other units I have painstakingly restored. I have a spare pedestal as well painted in plain Dark Machine Grey. An extra 1943 bench base is available and features a rare oilboard serial number tag (most have disintegrated over 80 years), and it can be mated to the '47 grinder motor if interested. $895 for a bench grinder; a pedestal with a simple toggle switch is an extra $700; a water pot at $150 and the extra work light switch $35. I can easily mix and match which extras go on the unit. The heft and beauty of these Art Deco styled grinders make these a perfect addition to a car collector's garage, a retro man cave, or the lobby of the Empire State Building or Chrysler Building !! I have sold six other units of this era in the last few years; quality NEVER goes out of style and these units should last another 80 years. |
