Old Table Saw and Jointer Combo. The table saw is a 10” tilting table type with the words “ALLATT and Toronto, Made in Canada” in the casting. There is also a sticker on the saw that reads “Milgrom Electric”. The jointer is 4” Mastercraft with a barely legible “Mastercraft” sticker on it. The tablesaw seems to have roughly the same operating features as a older Delta - but I am only making that observation from viewing photos of the Deltas. The table saw blade rises by means of a crown and pinion gear set that raises the blade height. This is a robust arrangement that is built on two stout greased pillars (see photo). The combo has a huge Robbins & Myers 3/4 hp electric motor that also has a plate with the name “Affiliated Electric” on it. It drives both machines by moving the drive belt from one machine to the other. The motor can be wired for either 120/230 volts with a shaft on both end. I don’t think this is a factory combo, because the jointer and T/S are from different makers. However, it is very well put together on a very heavy duty riveted metal stand with steel wheels too. The unit is in excellent condition and was a welcome find as I need another table saw and jointer. However, it has been noted that this maybe the only Allatt table saw known to this site, so I thought, let's see if any collectors would like to acquire it. It is in excellent mechanical condition (T/S) and the blade runs true. There is no wobble in the arbor shaft and the table stays true at level. The small extension is heavy gauge stamped steel. It has the original fence, blade plate, miter gauge, needle point height indicator and brass plate bevel indicator. It has the original patina, however I did clean the very light surface rust on both machines. The jointer does need the parallelogram tables tweaked, but here too, the machine is in excellent mechanical condition. All bearings, mating surfaces and adjusters work fine with no interference on the whole combo and the motor has no issues as well. |
