541,523 Jun. 25, 1895 Engraving-machine table Charles Clifford Bruckner Chicago, IL The witnesses on this patent pose a minor mystery: John C. Schott and Horace Thurston were both from Providence, although Schott moved to Brooklyn at about the time this patent was issued. Schott was a partner in button machinery maker Schott Brothers, and Thurston designed machinery for them before starting machine tool manufacturer Thurston Mfg. Co.
