Founded in 1872 to manufacture plate working machinery. In the 1960's the firm acquired Providence St. Works, Lye, England. Production included a full range of manual and powered box and pan folders, bending rolls, guillotine shears and press brakes. Meanwhile the Rushworth Co. steadily grew with a program of continuous improvement, concentrating on large capacity bending rolls and shears. In 1972 the company
merged with the Morgan Co. to create Morgan Rushworth specializing in both sheet and plate machinery.
