This information is from a condensed catalog published in Spons' in 1876. The iron works were at Burton-on-Trent, Severn Engineering Works at Derby, and London offices at Westminster. The firm made steam engines and boilers, primarily for pumps, hauling, and winding. A large portion of their business was with colleries, for which they also made open-cab tank locomotives.
