In 1833 Goodrum & Chapman, a partnership of Thomas Goodrum and William Chapman, were manufacturing lathes out of their premises at 168 Charles in New York City.

Information Sources

1833 Longworth's New York City Directory lists Goodrum & Chapman at 168 Charles, "lathemakers and machinists". Thomas Goodrum and William Chapman were listed with that address as their work addresses. Searches of 1834 and subsequent directories turned up no other listings for the partnership.
