In 1877 Louis Raiser, successor to George Reuther, was making lathes for wood and metal, including metal-spinning lathes.

  • May 1877 - May 1878 Goulding's New York City Directory has text ad: "Louis Raiser, / Successor to George Reuther, / Machinist, Model and Lathe Maker. / All kinds of Metal Spinner, Metal and Wood Turner. Lathes always on hand; also, Polishing Lathes, Fly Wheels, Counter Shafts, Pulleys and Hangers. / Residence, 214 Canal St. / Nos. 125 & 127 Worth St., Bet. Centre & Elm (Saw Mill), New York."
