During the 1950s Phillips & Hiss Co., Inc. made a micro drill press.

  • 1952 issue of Automotive Industries (vol. 107 p. 146) lists "Phillips & Hiss Co., Inc., Hollywood", as a supplier of aircraft parts.
  • 1954 issue of Manufacturing Engineering (vol. 33 p. 121) "...Cobb tap and die holder, has been especially designed for high speed production on any lathe by Cobb Precision Co., 1042 N. Cole, Hollywood, Calif."
  • 1955 issue of Electronics: "Phillips & Hiss Co., Inc., 1155 W. McCadden Place, Hollywood 38, Calif."
  • 1958 Instruments & Control Systems, ad: "Precision drilling made easy!
