The American Equipment Co. was one of many companies that manufactured machine tools for World War I. The firm was still manufacturing Liberty lathes and grinders in 1919. Their primary product was brick machinery. The first two lathes were built by American Clay Machinery Co. of Bucyrus, apparently a subsidiary.
