Incorporated in 1892, the Chain Belt Co. began as a maker of drive chains for powering agricultural machinery and then diversified into making a wide range of construction and conveying equipment. By 1930 they were manufacturing Rex saw rigs which were sold exclusively through distributor Victor L. Phillips C.. In 1964 the company name changed to Rex Chainbelt, Inc. In 1968 we see ads from Phillips Supply Co., offering clearance pricing on 'Rex 16" Table Saw with gas engine".
