The company Hofmann Mess- und Teiltechnik looks back on a long tradition.
Founded in 1947 by Dionys Hofmann senior, the former company Dionys Hofmann was involved in the manufacture of knife grinding machines and balancing machines. In 1948, the production of sub-assemblies was added.
Due to the turmoil after World War II, the company relocated to Onstmettingen where it began manufacturing precision indexing heads and rotary tables. Onsmettingen became a part of Albstadt in 1975.
The circular parts technology division was bought out of Dionys Hofmann GmbH in 1993 and reestablished an independent company,Hofmann Mess- und Teiltechnik, by Dionys Hofmann Jr.
In 2001, the company moved to a new production and administration building in Grosselfingen. There, investments were made in 4,000 square meters of administration and production space.
At the end of 2009, Hofmann Mess- und Teiltechnik was taken over by the Müller Group, headquartered in Pliezhausen near Reutlingen.
