The Peter Wright & Sons company was founded by Peter Wright in Dudley England sometime between 1815 and 1820. Peter Wright, a blacksmith, recognized the need for better tools and soon began manufacturing anvils made from wrought iron with hardened steel faces. Due to the high quality of this firms anvils, they are highly sought after to this day by blacksmiths around the world. In addition to anvils, the company also produced vices, including a patented solid box vice.
