American Pullmax Company, Inc. was a manufacturer and distributor of specialized metal fabrication machinery based in Chicago, Illinois. The company is best known for introducing and manufacturing the Pullmax reciprocating sheet-metal cutting and forming machines to the North American market.

The reciprocating metal-cutting technology was patented in 1938. The first Pullmax machines were produced in Gothenburg, Sweden in 1939 by AB Elektrosvets (later renamed Pullmax AB). To meet heavy industrial demand following World War II, the Swedish parent firm established Pullmax Inc. in 1947 as a dedicated U.S. sales arm. At this time, seeking to expand beyond importing, the American Pullmax Company set up a major manufacturing and assembly presence in Chicago, Illinois.
