The Wisconsin Machine Corp. (WMC) was fonded in 1971 manufacturing the initial line of "Wisconsin Forcemaster" press brakes in Wisconsin. In 1973, Facing dissolution, Wisconsin Machine Corp sold its press brake designs, patents, and manufacturing rights to the newly formed Wisconsin Equipment Corp. On July 22, 1977, HTC, Inc. — a wholly owned subsidiary was created specifically by Hydra-Tool Co., Inc. for the acquisition—purchased all assets of the Wisconsin Equipment Corporation. In Late 1977, manufacturing operations for the press brakes were moved from Wisconsin to Mississippi, and Wisconsin Equipment Corporation was dissolved.
