Kendan Manufacturing Co. was established in 1946 by brothers Ken and Dan Bryan plus their father John, in small shop at 2918 Walker Road in Windsor. They manufactured parts for Ford, Chrysler and Caterpillar among others. At some point, probably quite early in their history they manufactured small wood shaper and a scroll saw. These products are why the Vintage Machinery website has an interest in them.

In 1967 the company moved to larger premises at 770 Division Rd. At their peak they had 350 employees. The family sold the business in 2000 and under the new ownership it went under in 2004.
