Seen on a 1/2 HP induction motor from Sears, model number 315.1952. The maker's prefix of 315 corresponds to Diehl Mfg. Co., "Ryan", and Ryobi. By far the most likely match is Diehl, which was a motor manufacturer active at the time. They were best known for supplying motors for Singer sewing machines. |

The specifications note multiple details of provision for bench mounting, work holding clamps to produce 90 degree corners and 45 degree bevels, adjustable saw guides with depth and resilient padding to protect saw teeth and "gap" to adjust to saw blade width. Known example marked "CRAFTSMAN" and "No. 9-6661." Coordinating corner clamps are marked "CRAFTSMAN" and "No. 9-6666."

This drill press elevation mechanism was sold by Sears as their "Pressmate" drill press table elevator, model number 9.27587, between about 1981 and 1985. The manufacturer is currently unknown. The owner's manual says "U.S. and other countries patents pending" but no US patent has been found. German patent 3,029,797, Argentinian patent 222,917, and a Japanese patent were granted for the same invention. Antti P. Raiha was granted a few other patents as well, including US patents, and none of them were assigned to a manufacturer. |
