From about 1893 to 1906 (and probably for longer) this company made pantograph-style carving machines that were used to make carousel horses.

Information Sources

  • This company was assigned several patents for carving machines; see the Patents section, below.
  • An ad in a 1920 issue of The Wood-Worker requests a used "Lochman type carving machine."
  • Contributor Matthew Caulfield reports that Lochman Carving Machines were made by this firm, and were used to make carousel horses. The machines are pantograph-style duplicators with high-speed routers to perform the cutting.
