Image Description:
The Mayer Power Hammer is the result of 30 years experience in hammer building. It is simple in design, easy to operate, with perfect control, and will stand up under many years of hard and constant use. Chances of breakage are minimized, and all parts are accessible.

Uses: Mayer Power Hammers are suitable for general welding, hammer forging, swaging, tool work, die forging, and special work.

Sizes of Mayer Power Hammers; These hammers are made in five sizes: 25 lb., 50 lb., 100 lb., 250 lb., and 500 lbs., for Belt or Motor drive.

Guarantee: Mayer Power Hammers are guaranteed absolutely against defective material and workmanship. They are guaranteed to give satisfactory service.

Power Hammer Dies: We are in position to furnish dies for various shapes of drill points and dies for special tools.

Construction: Ram is a steel casting, perfectly balanced and carefully machined, with large bearings for the hook or toggle joint. It operates in V guides and the guide bearings are extra strong.

V Guides are cast integral with main frame and are adjustable at two points, providing for quick and perfect adjustment in spite of unequal wear, and enabling the constant maintenance of a perfect full length bearing. This arrangement also insures absolute rigidity of guides when in adjustment and perfect alignment of dies.

Ram Connection is so designed that it provides a perfect cushion at the upper extremity of stroke and Imparts a multiplied impetus to the downward stroke or blow of ram. Steel castings, alloy steel forgings and high-grade steel springs and hinge pins are used in this assembly.

Adjustment—Although adapted to a wide range of work without adjustment, such as alternate blows on the fiat and edge of rectangular stock, adjustment for different thicknesses of dies, and material is provided for by means of a split steel cross-head, which is clamped to the steel connecting rod and can be shifted up or down quickly and easily.

Bearings are medium-hard grey Iron, the best material for this type of bearing. Crank bearing Is extra-long, split and clamped in position by the steel connecting rod. Shaft bearings are removable bushings and arc a driving fit In the boxes which are cast as part of main frame.

Friction Is of the cone type, leather faced, and gives operator perfect control of speed and weight of blow.

Dies are of high grade crucible tool steel, accurately machined and properly tempered: they are keyed in machined slots and set at an angle which enables the working of long bars without interfering with the frame. Standard dies are either fiat or round faced. Unless otherwise specified, they are furnished with rounded face suitable for plow work on the 25-lb. and 50-lb. hammers, and fiat forging face on the 100-lb. hammer. Special dies for special and unusual work made to. order.

Lubrication: Pulley and gear shaft bearings are lubricated from a grease cup and the hollow shaft. Front shaft bearings and contact surface of friction are oiled with a hand oiler.

Frame and sow block are of massive castings composed of a mixture of close-grained high-grade grey iron and steel. Frame and sow block are bolted together and the face between is accurately machined and provided with a machined tongue and groove.
