A nice heavy C B Rogers lathe found in Vermont. The 7 foot bed gives only about 4’ between centers but the 23 ½ inch turning capacity and sturdy construction make it perfect for large architectural finials etc. 11 ¾ inches center to bed with original 1 ¼ inch riser blocks indicating the smallest possible capacity of this modal was 21 inch spin. Note the hand wheels which tighten the tool rest and tailstock

Comments: The center which came with the lathe was totally beat. Luckily my parts drawer produced one which fits perfectly. The taper is between a morse # 2 & 3.

Comments: Under the Rogers this massive tail stock is 30” long and 13” center to floor. Designed for an iron bed and appears to be civil war era or earlier. Found in Maine without the headstock.
