I received this saw from our Son-in-law. It belonged to his father, whom had passed away about 1980. It sat in his basement shop all that time and had been in several inches of water for a time. It was very rusty, especially the legs and upper wheel cover. The fence was missing.
I sand blasted the entire machine, primed it with Rustoleum sandable primer, and color coated it with Rustoleum Ford engine gray.
I purchased a fence from an OWWMer to finish it. The bearings and shifter were all in very good condition, and just a light spraying with penetrating oil was needed to free the shifter. The gearbox was drained and filled with 50w racing oil. Every part of this saw is OEM. I added an 882 lamp and belt guard to it.
The saw runs very smoothly, and is replacing a 2001 Delta 28-299.
