Comments:
I recently acquired this machine here in the Arn desert that is north Alabama. The machine started as one of a contract for 40 machines delivered to the United States Air Force at Warner Robbins, GA. I was told by Newman that the "Type 11" didn't refer to the belt-drive motor which is original from newman, but rather to the electrical specifications requested by the USAF for a low voltage (120V.) starter control 'not mounted' on the machine. At some time in it's life the machine became property of the Tennessee Valley Authority. The machine is 100% original and is equiped with a three knife cutterhead and powered by a Westinghouse LiteLine 5 HP three phase motor via three A-62 belts. Right now the machine awaits it turn for restoration and the more I look at it the further up the "in que" slate it moves.
