I acquired this machine from Plaza machinery in 2002 it was the first thing I bought from him. Joe told me it came out of a school in NH, I later got an original power feed and the Kurt D-40 vise in a trade for an atlas 10in lathe which I had gotten for free from a friend. I sold the power feed recently because it didn't work well at all, I am thinking about adding a servo feed some day.

I replaced the spindle bearings shortly after bringing the machine home and the mill is a joy to use, despite it's small stature it is a very solid machine and cuts beautifully. The only negative aspects of the machine are the drawbar type morse taper tooling which is a pain to find and the quill feed is not confidence inspiring(I use the knee when ever possible). It took a while to get all the tooling but I now have a full set of collets 1/16"-1/2" by 16ths(bridgeport,royal,MSC/Royal), a criterion boring head, and an Albrecht drill chuck, that all fit.

as a side note I think that anyone getting into machine restorations should give serious consideration to getting a mill and lathe. this machine and my Rockwell lathe have proved indispensable when it comes to reworking parts, making custom parts when originals are not available, making specialty tools, or just modifying other tools/machines to do what I want.
