Comments:
I acquired this saw off CL in July 2011 from the previous owner of over 15 years that had set it up in his barn in NJ only to find out the motor was inoperative. He wanted the saw to go to someone that would restore it rather than part it out or scrap it. He trailered it up to CT where I picked it up and trucked it to MA. The motor was in pieces in a 5 gallon pail, most of the remainder of the saw was still together. The saw has some minor rust on it that I am removing via electrolysis method. One of the motor windings was heavily smoked, the start capacitor was destroyed and the start relay is not present. I have had the motor rewound at Clinton Motor Service that did a very professional and craftsmanlike job on restoring the stator to better than new (better wire than original). The motor is now back together and is capable of running. I will be putting time into this project over the next 6 months, refinishing the paint on the saw body and stand and getting it set up in the place that my Craftsman RAS now occupies.
