This appears to be a water reservoir or coolant tray for a bench grinder. I've submitted it as evidence that this company must have made more than just a scroll saw.

(Admin BAK, 4/9/2020: this actually appears to be the base for the Simple Simon belt sander. Note the sanding belt cuts in the upright post part of the casting. A previous owner may have been using it as a coolant tray. Adjusted the specs.)
