Machine originated from Lincoln Air Force Base, Nebraska from sometime in the late 70's and was posted on Craigslist in 2011. The machine intrigued me due to the fact it had been customized at some point from a chain mortiser, to a chisel mortiser. As it turned out, the person selling the machine had aquired it from the Air Force and had customised it for his woodshop; what a great idea. The machine was fully functionalble when I purchased it, but just needed a little paint and polish to bring it back. What a great edition to any shop. Note: The registry noted, no serial numbers for the 2A Mortisers but this one has a serial number, Serial No. 2036 so I'm guessing it's a circa 1953 Machine.
