I bought this saw from a salvage co. It had been out int weather for some long time. On the strength the motor still ran (240) I have started the restoration. Confirmed the motor is ok.
It is now completely disassembled. All my searching has not found any details of the carrage system built like the attached picture. The serial number listings would have it be a product manufactured in 1948.

Might this have been some special Heavy duty run. It seams significantly more robust than any details I have found.
The name plates and logo plate are pure Dewalt.
Any advice or historical information will be appreciated.
