What's better than "dirt cheap"? Answer: "Free".

I received an e-mail out of the blue from someone who found my name as the webmaster of the Richmond Antique Tools Society website. He had an old Craftsman bandsaw he wanted to give away because it was taking up space in his small shop and he just wanted it gone. If nobody took it he was going to take it to the landfill.

I picked it up in the dark, so I couldn't give it a good inspection, but it looked good, and free is free, so I gladly took it off his hands. Not only did he help me load it, he included several blades, some of which appear to be unused, new old stock, and also included the original dirty paper instruction sheet (which I have submitted to the site).

Upon getting it home into my shop and giving it a good inspection, I happily discovered it is absolutely 100% complete, unbroken and functioning. Just needs a little cleaning. And new tires, of course. But I probably will give it the full-goose bozo tear down and restoration.

So now I have 12", 16" and 36" bandsaws!

My wife doesn't know yet...
