Comments:
This 260D table saw was originally purchased by the U.S. Mint in San Francisco, Calf. on June 30, 1944. I purchased the saw in Dec of 2011 and have completely dissambled, and painted the saw. Although the basic saw was in very good original conditions, many parts had to be restored, remade, or purchased. Rich Fink, of Eagle Machine, has been huge help with information as well as supplying original Oliver parts, including a complete quadrant gauge, No. 1 sliding miter gauge, Riving knives and brackets, and misc. items. The saw is not quite finished at this point, but I decided to post before and after photos which will be updated when the saw is completed. As can be seen in the final photos, I have installed a Vega fence that I have had machined with an offset for the sliding table. Here are updated pictures as of March 22.
