This is a 1955 first year of production Powermatic 90 wood lathe that I found on Craigslist. It is the only year the serial number didn't have a hyphen and is number 86 ever built. The lathe had all of the original parts except for the speed dial that dates to around 1970. The restored photo shows the lathe with 3" riser blocks, a custom belt guard and a VFD. The original banjo was exchanged with a 1980 Powermatic 90. The original color was pea green but I repainted it with rustoleum hammered green, highlighted "Powermatic", and added a 70's vintage racing stripe. "Sparty" is the mascot of my alma mater Michigan State and green and white are the school colors.
