Comments:
This is an Oliver double sided planer/surfacer in daily use at the Smith Street Mill in Everett, Wa. The planer appears to have Oliver ITCH heads. It was apparently purchased new from Star Machinery in Seattle. The mill operates six to seven days a week, and cuts local alder, cottonwood and maple for the wholesale lumber trade, pallet material and dunnage. I also purchase bulk alder and cottonwood for my high school shop class. If you look closely you can see that most of the knife grinding equipment is still present both behind the chip hood, and also on the floor in a pile of sawdust.

Unfortunately as of 2017 the mill has been sold and the equipment liquidated or scrapped. I don't know what happened to the planer. Most of the sawmill works were scrapped.
