Comments:
I recently inherited this 9L lathe from my father-in-law, whose father was the original purchaser in the 1930's. I have been doing hobby machining for about 5 years now and always knew that my father-in-law had an "old lathe" in his garage that he did his own hobby machining on. He passed on and I was left the lathe and I was certainly surprised to find out it was one of the very rare Champion Blower & Forge 9L lathes. Add on that it has an overhead drive system and a 29" center distance and it may be the only one of its type to be in existence.

The lathe runs great and I am now in the process of a sympathetic restoration of the lathe to keep it in working condition. I intend to use the lathe for my hobby activities.
