Comments:
This was made by Belsaw in the 1970s, and appears to be a rebadged 912 planer/molder. It has a 5hp 1ph 240V Wagner motor that's bigger than my head, and has to weigh as much as the rest of the machine combined. All the mechanicals are in great shape and run pretty smoothly, which is amazing, considering how old it is, and how long it's just been sitting in their warehouse. The rubber roller is a bit depressed in the middle, obviously from running stuck up primarily in the center, so I'll probably replace that before putting this to real work. One of the many attachments and kits Belsaw sells for this is a drum sander kit for this, which I'm excited to try, given how expensive even low-end drum sanders can be these days.

How I acquired it: I was the only bidder on this item on eBay, but what a find! The motor alone is worth a lot more than the $50 I paid. The pickup location ended up being an Adventist school in Hagerstown, MD, that had pulled it out of their workshop some years earlier, and the fellow handling the transaction was more or less a groundskeeper/handyman. Good thing they had a forklift, because this and the other two items I'd won (16" and 20" DeWalt radial arm saws) weighed a ton. It would've taken me hours to disassemble to the point that I could load them all into the box truck I'd borrowed.

ALL photos are from the initial eBay listing; I'll upload new ones when I get a round TUIT.
