I just happened to stop at a yard sale over the weekend and purchased this vintage Craftsman scroll saw for twenty nine bucks. All I had on me. The only thing that seemed to be missing was the drive belt. The GE motor is most likely not original. From my research on line I believe this saw was produced somewhere between 1939 and 1944. This is an assumption on my part. My expertise on scroll saws is limited to the DeWalt DW 788 which I have used for years. One thing I noticed about the 103.0404 is that there is no "Craftsman" logo on the arm. The only label is the small oval "Craftsman" tag on the lower front. I am more than ready to be corrected on the content of this article and most excited about finding out more about this vintage "American" made beauty!
