I picked this drill press up as a Craigslist buy for $45 not having ever heard of this manufacturer. I just knew that it was old school and that I'd wanted an upgrade from my 80s vintage Craftsman DP. Unfortunately, the motor isn't original but is relatively new. After getting it home I went on-line to find an owner's manual and located it on Google Books, published by the Departments of the Army and Air Force. I hadn't intended on doing anything but removing some of the grey paint slathered over all the parts that shouldn't have had paint. Soon I found myself having torn down the entire DP to complete a light restoration. When I removed the aftermarket switch mounted to the front of the head unit, I found that it had covered up a brass tag, which had all the manufacturing information and "Property of the US Government". I did my best to use the original color scheme but really wasn't able to find online photos of any in their original glory. This was close to the color that was under the US Government badge. I might have taken some liberties with detailing the logo but I think it stands out nicely. This is what piqued my interest in vintage machinery.
