I bought this off a woodworker who was moving and down scaling somewhat. A very talented woodworker I might add. One that I will never be. Needless to say I was happy to pick up the saw. His Dad bought it new in 1953 and used it for years before he got it and had it until I came along. I paid more than I wanted to as I have seen better deals before but I like tools that have some history come with them. Plus this one had a cool handmade by his dad I believe oak table extensions and wood base. It also came with a bunch of extra blades, two which are marked Beaver. This is a very smooth and quiet running saw. I have a 56 unisaw already but no room to set it up. This one is a little easier to slide around for space and great for the small cuts I need to do hear and there. Likely won't be ripping many 2" oak planks on this but it will still come in handy. Luckily it even came with the original owners manual. The handle for tilting the blade is really stiff. I was going to look into it but saw that the screws on one panel were marred so guessed some investigation was already done. One door on the base opens for tool storage and the other for sawdust storage. I am amazed at how easy the fence works on this. The mitre gauge works great and is mint also. A few bandages and I will be ready to go!!!

Comments: I love the hand made oak table extensions his dad made for this saw. Also the very cool vintagey base.
