I recently brought home this huge 32" Crescent band saw after buying it from a boat builder in coastal Virginia who was closing down his business. I couldn't try it out, but the guy assured me it was working well the last time he ran it. He had only replaced the top rubber tire. A very skilled tow truck driver took it off my trailer and had to tilt it 45 degrees to get it into my shop. The door is 83" high; the saw 86". I think all the parts are there. Judging from similar photos on this site, it seems to be from around 1945. The serial number tag was missing, but an inventory tag of the USMC Air Station, Cherry Point, NC, was on the back. The former owner told me he'd bought it at a government auction. I called the Marine base, but couldn't find anyone who could trace down the inventory number to find out the exact date it was purchased.
