Comments:
I bought this at Habitat ReStore, on one of my volunteer days. The company told me that the machine was made for a period of 15 years or so, until production stopped 28 years ago. The company was created by merger in 1983, so it must have been produced between then and 1986, by my calculations.
I do not have a manual, but a very useful 1985 Family Handyman review reprint on this website (under "Images") provides useful information. Turns out it is a very versatile tool, with multiple belt configurations for varied tasks, including sanding on inside closed contours.
The machine is very light but quite stable. Construction is of formed sheet metal, with the table being the only cast iron. When I bought the sander the table mount was fractured at the point where the set screw hole was located, and I had that repaired. The motor is 1/4 HP, 1725 RPM. I chose not to totally restore the machine since a good cleaning and lubrication made it purr smoothly and quietly.
