Comments:
The relatively rare Powermatic 31 Belt/Disc sander (not an Asian-manufacture 31A). Probably one of the very last sanders that Powermatic built in the U.S.A. Bought in a school district auction; had been well used, but not terribly abused. I probably did as much damage to it leaving it outside for 2 years, even though it was wrapped up. Started working on it solely to get it functional. Was having too much fun taking it apart and before I knew it, it was completely disassembled. I changed bearings, replaced all of the fasteners and adjustment knobs, and repainted it. The flag and safety sticker are original, the stripe and Powermatic emblem were remade by a local print shop. 1 1/2 hp, heavy, and runs amazingly smooth.
