This particular planer isn't very old, but the model reaches back into the *old* category. This machine was auctioned off on eBay and the seller had some very nice pics. With his permission, I decided to post them in case someone needed a clear pic of what a clean unit should look like.

From his description:

"Planes stock up to 13" wide and 6" thick. Variable feed rate from 15 to 25 feet per minute. Ability to disengage feed without stopping motor. 3 knife cuttehead operates at 4500 rpm, giving 13,500 cuts per minute. One turn on the crank handle adjusts cut depth 1/16". Bed rollers are adjustable. Feed drive mechanism consists of fully enclosed gearbox and heavy-duty chain drive. Powered by a 3 HP 220v single phase motor with 24v push button station, magnetic starter, transformer and overload protection (LVC)."

Complete unit weighs in the neighborhood of 650lbs.
